MY STORY

I am a product of a multi-path life journey. I have held multiple Executive and Board Directorship positions at reputable companies over the past 20 years in South Africa.  I have worked in multi-cultural environments and that has given her exposure to countries in Africa the middle east, the USA and Europe.

In my career, I have also mentored entrepreneurs and supported small businesses to the point where they were ready to scale. I have also mentored leaders on developing healthy teams. I have coached professionally since 2015 at a management level. I am a member of Comensa (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa) and the International Coaching Federation globally including its Swiss Chapter. I also associated with a cohort of local and global coaches who work on large projects and interventions in both coaching and providing assessment services.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I have held multiple Executive and Board Directorship positions at reputable companies over the past 20 years in South Africa. Executive roles include: JSE, Cell C, Telkom, The Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Lobedu Leo Burnett. My past directorships include Bankserv, Nestle, Joburg, Soweto and Roodepoort Theatres and the Institute of Directors. I am currently a Director of La Roseraie Foundation, Geneva, Switzerland, the Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative, Mpumalanga, South Africa and I am collaborating on starting a co-operative bank in Johannesburg, South Africa. I have worked in multi-cultural environments which have given me exposure to at least 23 African countries, two middle eastern countries, the USA and a few European countries. As a South African, I have worked and lived in Nigeria for a period of 18 months and as of November 2020 I am based in Switzerland. This exposure solidified my understanding of working within new, challenging and diverse environments. As part of my volunteer work, I mentored entrepreneurs. I delighted in the process of supporting the establishment of a business and growing with it until it is ready to scale.

I have had exposure on several levels in organisations, with a proven track record in strategy development and implementation, financial management, reputation management, marketing, communications and advertising, crises management, mergers and acquisitions.

COACHING JOURNEY

Mentoring and coaching has been my destination, although I did not always consciously acknowledge it along the way. During my career, my colleagues and team members described me as ‘an empath’ and ‘a motivator’ and routinely came to me for guidance. Through our engagement, I recognised that their growth was my growth, their shift was my shift too.

1994 - Early Mentoring

I mentored mid-career employees in corporates and business owners of small enterprises as well as start-ups. This helped me to harness my skills in unlocking human potential as an Integral Coach.

2002 - Take a Girl Child to Work Day Programme

I led the conceptualisation and implementation of the Take a Girl Child to Work Day Programme while I was the Director of Communications at Cell C.  Now in its 18th year, the programme has impacted over 1,2 million girls in South Africa.

2015 - Integral Coaching 1.0

I formalised my career as an Integral coach when I completed and certified in  the Associate Coaching Course, with  New Ventures West (NVW), San Francisco in partnership with the Centre for Coaching at the UCT Graduate School of Business.

2020 - Integral Coaching 2.0

I completed my Professional Coaching Course Certificate with New Ventures West (NVW), San Francisco in partnership with the Centre for Coaching at the UCT Graduate School of Business.
